Oxford Street

The all famous Oxford Street is walking distance from all our central London properties. Follow this Shaftesbury Hotels Collection guide for an awesome time in Europe's busiest centres.

Home to major department stores, numerous flagship stores as wells numerous smaller shops, Oxford Street - is a SHOPPER'S PARADISE! Most British chain stores use their Oxford Street branches for celebrity launches and promotions.

Specialising in High Street Fashion, it is also a great place for stylish but inexpensive outfits and accessories.

Very close to Oxford Street is the Arts Gallery. Opened in 1993, this exceptional Gallery is located within the headquarters of the University of Arts and has hosted some of the most prestigious exhibitions in the locality.

Having hosted many eminent productions since its inception in 1910, The London Palladium has a capacity of over 2200 spectators. So why not entertain yourself with the many exciting theatricals playing, especially if you're here with your children!

With a regular string of music events, especially the weekly Thursday live recitals by young and upcoming talent from all major music colleges in London, Handel House Museum is worth a trip. A small museum, it celebrates the life and music by the great composer George Fredric Handel.

Much like other streets in the area, Regent Street was designed by John Nash, who had also planned the Marble Arch. Apart from the striking architecture; Regent Street is famous for an array of shops, especially the world-famous toystore, Hamleys and the quaint department store Liberty, erected in 1875. Today Liberty epitomises the highest level of women's fashion.

Infamous for its red light district and famous as the first jazz venues of UK, a walk around the multi-cultural Soho district is not to be missed.

Since London is incomplete without a visit to its famed Hyde Park, why not visit this Royal Park to cool off your heels after the shopping madness in Oxford Street.

From our Marble Arch accommodations, one is better off walking to Oxford Street which is a few minutes away. All our other properties are located within walking distance and less than 10-minutes bus/train journey to the Oxford Street tube stop.
