Visitors travelling to central London hotels for next month’s Diamond Jubilee may be interested in grabbing one of 10,000 front row seats to see the Queen’s procession through the capital.
It has been confirmed that members of the public are now able to enter a special draw to win tickets to sit in the main grandstand for the Diamond Jubilee procession on June 5th. The procession will mark the end of four days of celebrations for the royal family and the city of London.
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are set to travel across London in an open-top 1903 vehicle before heading to Buckingham Palace to appear on the famous balcony. There will also be an RAF flypast as they appear alongside other members of the family including the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall.
The 10,000 seats will be in a special grandstand close to the Queen Victoria Memorial and winners of the tickets will be able to enjoy a close-up view of the royal couple celebrating the Queen’s 60-year reign on the throne.
Ticket winners will also be able to watch the special national service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral live on big screens close to the grandstand.
Culture secretary Jeremy Hunt said: “To have a ringside seat on such a historic day is an experience not to be missed.”
He added: “This really is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and one that will be remembered for generations to come.”
Details on the ballot can be found online at www.jubilee5june.co.uk and those wanting to have a chance of winning tickets need to enter the competition before it closes on Friday April 20th.
