Malaysia is becoming increasingly a popular destination among curious travellers, and London is set to celebrate its fascinating culture.
Malaysia Night will be held at Trafalgar Square on October 4th, and trust us when we say that it is set to be a fantastic day out for the family. There will be a huge market with stalls selling anything from handmade arts and crafts to fragrant herbs, pastes, sauces and spices, if you want to try your hand at some cooking back home. There will also be traditional and contemporary performances on the main stage, whether it be singing, live dancing or comedians. Things to look out for include cooking demonstrations by the likes of Ian Pengelly and a special art exhibition.
The highlight of the day, however, will undoubtedly be the food, as you will get the chance to try some of the tastiest dishes that are available outside of Kuala Lumpur. In total, there are set to be 20 Malaysian restaurants involved and all foodies are sure to have their taste buds tantalised by the beef rendang, satay chicken, masi goreng and laksa. Local businesses will be serving specialist menus, and if you’re not even that hungry, there will be refreshing tea and juices available.
Malaysia Night, unlike its name suggests, actually runs from midday to 10pm on October 4th, and to top it all off, it is completely free to attend. The nearest tube stations are Charing Cross, Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus, so you can easily get from your London hotel via the Underground network. You may want to make a real weekend of it and incorporate some of the city’s best attractions, such as the British Museum and the London Dungeons. Berseronok!
