EuroHockey is set to take London by storm in 2015

The EuroHockey Championships are the perfect chance to see some of the best hockey teams in the world going at it for victory, and this year it is the UK’s turn to host such a prestigious event.

Running for just a week, the best eight field hockey teams on the continent, from the likes of Germany, Belgium and Netherlands, will play 40 matches to see who makes it to the two-day finals. Both the men and the women will have their own individual tournaments, while the England team are eager to clinch victory on their own soil. There are sure to be huge home crowds cheering them on so be sure to join them.

The tournament will be held at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre, which has already proved itself as an epicentre for truly world-class sport. Having originally been the venue for the 2012 Paralympic Tennis tournament, the surrounding park has now been transformed into a Hockey Fan Park, and trust us when we say it looks nothing short but spectacular.

The EuroHockey Championships 2015 will take place from August 21st to 30th. For more information on the teams and matches, or to buy tickets, check out the official website.

To keep everyone in the family happy, you may want to combine some matches with some sightseeing in the city, and with huge attractions such as the London Eye, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey to cram in, you can be guaranteed an itinerary to suit all ages and tastes – just be sure to book into a London hotel as soon as possible as occupancy rates tend to be very high over the summer period.
