Get a Taste of London this summer

Whether you are foodie or just like stuffing your face, the Taste of London Festival is the place to head to later this month.

Running from June 19th to 22nd, the festival, sponsored by British Airways, will be bringing together some of the best restaurants in the city to showcase just how diverse and delectable the food of London can be. Over 40 businesses will be sampling their most famous dishes to customers, including Benares, Maze, Le Gavroche, and L'Anima.

A highlight of the event is sure to be the Taste Theatre, an area where chef hosts will be competing against one another to dish up some of the best meals, while a group of food critics, chefs and restaurateurs will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. Huge names will appear here, such as Monica Caletti, Michel Roux Jr, Alfred Prasad, Alexis Gauthier and Neil Rankin – to put it simply, you cannot miss this!

Furthermore, the Taste Kitchen will be back again this year, allowing visitors to get involved in tasting sessions, attend cooking classes and watch all manner of cookery demonstrations. You never know, you may see someone off the telly teaching you how to cook your potatoes.

There will also be a Taste of Thailand section, that looks particularly at the city's Thai restaurants, and will make you feel completely immersed in the culture of this fantastic country – expect to encounter the likes of Blue Elephant, ORA and Suda.

Tickets for the event are currently available, but note that they are in hot demand. If you need a place to stay, consider the Shaftesbury hotels, which are accessible via London's trustworthy underground network.
