To say that Pharrell Williams has been dominating the charts would be a huge understatement. With his duet with Daft Punk being one of the best selling singles of last year and ‘Happy’ sure to have a similar accolade for 2014, to put it simply, he is the ‘it’ man, and he is coming to London.
It may surprise you but this musical master is actually 41 years old and he has been on the scene for a fair amount of time. His career started with the group The Neptunes as he played alongside Chad Hugo and they soon became one of the most successful producing bands in the industry. Being responsible for Nelly’s ‘Hot in Herre’ and Snoop Dogg’s ‘Drop it Like it’s Hot’, they may have not been singing on the records but they were behind some of the biggest hits of the noughties.
After some time, he became involved with group N.E.R.D and the years that followed saw Pharrell work with anyone from Beyonce to Britney Spears. Over the years, he managed to win an Oscar for ‘Happy’ that has sold 7.8 million copies so far, gained seven Grammy Awards for being both an artist and a producer, and seems to have only begun his world domination.
After having released his latest album ‘G I R L’ earlier this year, he is now going on the road and he is sure to take London’s O2 Arena by storm. With his catchy tunes and surprise guests, who knows what he’ll do? Be sure to book yourself into a London hotel so you have a place to crash after all that dancing.
Pharrell will be playing at the O2 Arena on October 9th and 10th.
