Get in touch with nature at Wilderness Festival

For a more unique festival experience this summer, avoid the likes of Glastonbury and T in the Park – instead, head to Wilderness Festival, where you will be able to enjoy world-class acts within spectacular natural surroundings.

Unlike many other festivals, this one is not just about the music. Whether it be a series of talks and debates, performances of Shakespeare's classics, indulging in a lakeside spa, getting your culinary senses excited at a banquet led by famous chefs or even horse riding in the park, there is more to this four-day fest than initially meets the eye.

That is not to say that the music is not fantastic either. Every year, the stage welcomes some of the best names in music, and this year will be no different. Highlights of the 2014 line-up include songwriter Burt Bacharach, electronic powerhouse Metronomy, and pop trio London Grammar, who have been climbing to the top of charts worldwide with their debut album. Other names include Jessie Ware, Gregory Porter and Brit Award-winner Sam Smith.

Beyond just the acts, you may also feel like you need to pinch yourself, as the highlight of any Wilderness Festival is Cornbury Park itself. Boasting 800 years of history, this deer park features 1,700 acres of ancient forest and a series of spectacular lakes. Walking around here, you will feel like the estate has been untouched; a pocket of space and time that remains protected from the changing world outside.

If you would rather stay in the centre of London during the weekend, there are many Shaftesbury hotels to pick from, offering a more relaxing and spacious accommodation choice.

Wilderness Festival is running from August 7th to 10th 2014.
