Have a wild night out… at London Zoo?

Naturally, the capital city is known for its raucous nightlife and trendy hipster bars, but you would've probably never thought that you could have a wild night out at London Zoo.

Opening its doors every Friday night in June and July, the world-class attraction is bringing its Zoo Lates events back this year, and they are sure to be bigger and better than ever. Attendees can expect food stalls from all over the world, stilt-walkers, comedy sets, DJs playing banging tunes, and even better, the chance to see wildlife after hours.

Particular highlights will be the improv sets in The Comedy Den, the Silent Dance Off, and the extensive programme of performances at The Lates Show. There will even be keeper talks and animal feeds if you want a unique take on a night out. And talking of the creatures, you will be able to see how the real party animals do it at night, having a walk through the Tiger Territory to check out the three Sumatran tiger cubs, or seeing the pygmy hippos Nicky and Thug.

If all of that sounds a bit hectic for you, you can always just chill at the Bordeaux Jardin du Vin, where you can sit back, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a wide selection of wines on offer. There will also be some wine educators here to offer talks, seminars and workshops on all things wine-tasting – what else could you ask for?

For those feeling a tad peckish, there is also an international street food festival in the zoo's central hub, sure to be something to suit all tastes.

Zoo Lates will run from 6pm to 10pm, but note that only over-18s are allowed in. After all that, crash at one of the Shaftesbury hotels, you have earned it!
