Stand-up legend and magician Jerry Sadowitz is going to be teaching London audiences the basics of card magic at a new series of workshops.
The comedy genius, who is known for his outrageous sense of humour, will be imparting his wisdom over six Monday-night master classes between January 20th and February 24th.
Anyone who's staying in central London hotels during this period and intrigued about the techniques used in card tricks should make attending Jerry Sadowitz: Card Magic Course for Beginners, which is taking place at the Leicester Square Theatre, a priority.
It is his fourth set of workshops for people with no experience in magic and places are bound to be filled up quickly, particularly as the groups are only small. The classes run from 7pm to 10pm, and cost £420 for the full six weeks.
As well as being a master of sleight of hand, Sadowitz has published several books on magic and was named the 33rd best comedian in Channel 4's 100 Great Stand-Ups list in 2010.
His unique blend of magic and comedy makes being taught by him a memorable experience, and besides the many jokes and witty quips you can expect him to toss around, he has been studying magic for 40 years so is extremely knowledgeable on the subject.
If you can't make the six-week commitment but would still like to see Sadowitz in action, then he is also appearing at the Leicester Square Theatre for a string of magic shows taking place between today (December 20th) and January 18th.
These performances will feature some of the magician's favourite tricks, many of which he has invented himself. According to the Times, the show is "genius… [it] astounds, amuses and appals in equal measure". Tickets are priced at £22.50 per person.
