Especially for those who are planning a truly unique trip to the capital, perhaps a night on the town with a few cocktails won't quite cut it. Therefore, London Zoo might be offering the perfect antidote to a conventional night out, with its programme aptly called Zoo Lates.
As the name would suggest, London Zoo will be open after hours every Friday evening throughout June and July.
However, for those who attend it will be so much more than just a trip to the zoo. With animal talks, comedy, cabaret, roving performances, pop-up bars, a street food festival, acoustic stages, carousel rides and so much more, the actual zoo itself – and its 17,500 animals – becomes just one part of a fantastic night out with friends or family.
This year, a Zoo Lates ticket will also grant people access to the brand new Tiger Territory. The attraction comprises a £3.6 million enclosure which is home to the Zoo's resident endangered Sumatran tigers Melati and Jae Jae. It was opened on March 20th by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh and covers 2,500 sq m, with floor to ceiling glass windows, giving visitors an amazing view of the beautiful creatures.
Open from 6:00pm until 10:00pm, Zoo Lates is strictly for those over the age of 18. People can save up to 40 per cent by booking online in advance, while there is 50 per cent off for groups of ten or more people.
Match.com even recommends this as perfect for romantic getaways in London or dates, saying: "We love that you can relax with a drink whilst marvelling at the animals! The perfect opportunity to get to know that special someone."
