We all love a classic jukebox musical and a new one is set to take the West End by storm next year.

Running at the Aldwych Theatre, Beautiful – The Carole King Musical looks at the life, times and work of one of the most influential singers of the past century, as she begins as a normal schoolgirl with a single ambition before turning into one of the most famous singer and songwriters on the planet.

A major turning point is when she meets her songwriting partner and future husband Gerry Goffin, as the duo become a force to be reckoned with, only if it is to attract the rival songwriting couple Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.

Over the years, Carole King became one of the most successful singers of all time, winning various awards and achieving massive record sales. It is hardly a surprise when considering King’s amazing back catalogue, and audience members can enjoy some of her biggest hits on stage, such as Fantasy, Tapestry, and Rhymes and Reasons. It won’t be long before you find your toes tapping to these uplifting tunes.

To top it all off, the lead role will also be undertaken by Katie Brayben, who recently features in the critically acclaimed King Charles III in the role of Diana, while this production has been directed by Marc Bruni, whose past work has been nothing short but stellar.

Beautiful – The Carole King Musical will be playing from February 10th to June 13th 2015, and adult tickets start from £15. If you want to check out some of the trendy hipster bars in the West End, you will need to book yourself a London hotel so you can keep the party going until the wee hours of the morning.
