‘Final Portrait’ is a witty film written and directed by famed actor and director Stanley Tucci. Starting Geoffrey Rush and Armie Hammer, ‘Final Portrait’ tells the story of an unlikely friendship that forms between Alberto Giacometti and James Lord.

Holiday (Secret) Film Club
31st August 2017

Throughout August, a variety of fun films are being shown as part of a secret holiday film club for young visitors to the Barbican. The final instalment of the series will be played on 31st August when a film will be projected onto a big screen at the Barbican Children’s Library. This is sure to be an enjoyable activity for children and families staying at hotels near Barbican Centre.

Into The Unknown

Throughout the month of August, visitors to the Barbican can see Into The Unknown. The exhibition showcases a number of different artists and artworks, from 19th century pieces to those that are more modern. The entire exhibition explores space, the future and human perception. Plus, there are great highlights to look out for, such as spacesuits used as costumes in Star Trek and Interstellar. Architecture on Stage: Angela Deuber

Angela Deuber is an award winning architect from Switzerland. Based in Chur, an alpine city in Canton Grisons, Deuber started her architectural journey by converting a late medieval house into her office; from there she then went on to further create more iconic projects of significant tectonic presence. At ‘Architecture on Stage’ Deuber will explore the themes of her architecture and style whilst discussing drawings and projects.
