Car lovers will soon be competing for rooms in central London hotels in order to attend Top Gear Live 2011, from November 24th to 27th.
Taking place in east London’s Excel centre, people are encouraged to stay in cheap London hotels and meet the Top Gear team as they host the show, packed with a variety of events.
Displays on offer include moped chariot racing, car curling and much more as the car-nuts take inspiration from the upcoming 2012 Olympic Games.
“Join Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond as they present their full-throttle show in the Live Action Arena,” explained tourism group Visit London.
“See the Top Gear Live team and crew demonstrate their suggested alternative sports for future Olympic Games.”
Alongside the moped chariot racing, which sees the famous trio compete on 125cc mopeds, and car curling, featuring full-sized cars on castors, people can take in Splat the Rat.
Splat the Rat is an alternative version of the traditional fete game, in which the team attempts to crush remote-controlled cars using mechanical weapons.
As well as the Live Action Arena, there’s plenty more on offer for fans of the show, including the new Top Gear Live Track, designed by Lotus Motorsport.
The indoor track will play host to races, rallies and special appearances by the legendary Stig as well as Sabine Schmitz, Tiff Needell and Derek Bell.
A number of celebrities will also hit the tracks in the show’s Star In A Reasonably Priced Car segment, including presenter Chris Evans, Harry Potter star Rupert
Grint and England striker John Barnes.
“Seriously cool” cars will also be on hand for people to enjoy in the Top Gear Live Exhibition, including the new McLaren MP4-12C, Lamborghini Aventador, Ferrari 599 GTO, McLaren F1 and Aston Martin V12 Vantage.
Tickets for the event cost between £59 and £100 per person, while family tickets are nearly £160.
